Glycol recovery, in operation
Spent glycol from cooling systems, fleets and heat transfer circuits is recovered and returned to use through Regen.
Glycol recovery is in operation through Regen. Spent glycols, the compounds behind antifreeze, cooling systems and heat transfer fluids across New Zealand’s industrial and transport sectors, are recovered and returned to use instead of being disposed of.
The opportunity
Every year, large volumes of glycol are disposed of or degraded because they are contaminated and there has been nowhere onshore to recover them. The fluid still carries valuable chemistry. With the contaminant load out, it can go back into manufacturing and heavy industry.
What happens to it
Glycol comes in by the IBC or the tanker, at our Nelson facility or on site. The contaminant load comes out. The recovered glycol is tested by an independent laboratory against specification before it goes back to use. What cannot be recovered leaves as a small, defined concentrate.
Why it matters
Glycol has been overlooked in New Zealand despite its volume. A reliable recovery pathway cuts chemical imports, lowers disposal cost, and gives fleet, transport and industrial operators a standing service for a stream that used to be a problem.
Operators with glycol streams can register interest at contact@graymark.tech.
